    This simple program is meant for asking you the figured pronunciation and the translation of some Japanese words written using kanji and kana. Feel free to download it and use it!





    For those who do not want to learn kanji but just some new vocabulary, there are two more modes of operation:


  • Write the romanji form of a Japanese word given its translation:

    You should load a vocabulary file with all the words you want to be asked for. This file is a simple Unicode text file with the following structure:
    Three columns separated by tabs containing

    -1st column: the Japanese word.
    -2on column: the romanji form.
    -3rd column: the translation of the word.

    In the zip file that contains the program there is a sample vocabulary file.

    You can specify synonyms (that will be considered as Ok when typed) of a word (in the romanji or occidental field) by adding them using the '|' character next to the previous word, as in the example above.
