the 'alfu.shhaa

This website describes the language whose speakers call 'allughatu lªarabiyyatu lfu.shhaa, "pure Arabic language", or, for short, 'alfu.shhaa "the pure one", 'alªarabiyyah "the Arabic one", or even 'allughah "the Language" (with an uppercase L). In English it's called either "Classical Arabic" or "Modern Standard Arabic" (the difference between the "Classical" and "Modern Standard" flavours is so subtle that Arabs don't even have different names for them).

Pure Arabic is the "most correct" (read "the most prestigious") of all varieties of speech that Arabs use, and it is the only variety used in TV, radio, and in written form. Most Arabic speakers use 100% pure Arabic in everyday speech about as often as you use BBC English to ask for a beer, but many of them understand it just fine.
